Care & Cleaning for Stainless Steel Pet Rehydration Stations

Although stainless steel keeps its lustrous finish (even under adverse conditions) it will still require regular cleaning and maintenance.

DO

  • Wash regularly with hot, soapy water or detergent using a clean cloth and if necessary, a soft bristle brush or green scotch-brite pad.
  • Remove any surface rust/tea stains with a green scotch-brite pad by cleaning with the grain lines of the stainless steel (see demo video below).
  • Remove non-washable deposits using an approved cleaner.
  • Clean in one direction only (along original grain lines in stainless steel) 
  • Rinse well with clean water and wipe dry with a soft, clean cloth. 

DON'T

  • Use steel wool or metallic scrapers to remove non-washable deposits. 
  • Allow dirt to accumulate or dry out and harden on stainless steel. 
  • Use cleaners containing harsh abrasives or high bleach contents (this will cause brown oxidization to appear on the stainless steel surface and will void your warranty). 
  • We do not recommend placing the Pet Rehydration Station in a salt water environment.

 HOW TO REMOVE SURFACE CORROSION

Care & Cleaning for Powdercoated Products

To ensure the life of your powdercoated product, a simple and regular maintenance program should be implemented.

DO

  • Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge by gently rubbing.
  • Clean by gently rubbing the surface with a soft sponge or cloth (non-abrasive) and a dilute solution of a mild detergent, e.g. pH-neutral liquid hand or dishwashing detergent in warm water to remove dust, salt and other deposits. For stubborn stains use only recommended solvents on the affected area, e.g. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or methylated spirits and rinse off with clean water. Do not use other aggressive solvents.
  • Rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues.
  • Inspect your powder coating often and clean more regularly if required
  • Clean powder coated surfaces when the surface temperatures are below 25°C

DON'T

  • Do not use turpentine, white spirits, thinners, citrus based cleaners or other aggressive solvents on powder coating.
  • Do not rub powder coated surfaces excessively, especially metallic finishes.
  • It is universally recognized some sunscreens adversely affect powder coated finishes.

 

Powdercoating has a 1 year adhesion guarantee wear and tear i.e scratches, dents etc. are not covered by this.
